meet me
where the shadows drift
apart
from who we are
where waning tides
reveal the rift
that weeps
into the stars
wrap me
amid layers
of a long
forgotten kiss
our voices
led astray
upon the solace
of your lips
shake me
to the rhythm
of our innocence
denied
pray not let us
fall
into a conscious
state of lies
for all
this world
has proven
naught
but torment in reprise
and so
we take our leave
as sorrows bleed
for you and i

An incredible piece of poetry. It flows effortlessly off of the tongue and the imagery is beautiful.

Thank you, oldepunk. I always appreciate your kindness and support. I’m hoping to convey some degree of my appreciation for those considerate and gracious enough to take the time to not only read, but actually go out of their way to leave a comment. I say this to you because the way in which I see myself in your expression through your poetry always evokes self-reflection within me that encourages me to follow through with the things I know I need to. This is because upon reading your words, I apply them to myself both consciously and subconsciously. I can’t quite explain it but it’s a distinct phenomenon which only occurs when I read your writing. It is as though we are one and the same in one respect, and in another, it is like you are my older brother looking out for me, gently reminding me of the things I need to do in order to treat others better and hopefully become the person I would want to be. I know that might seem a bit odd, but it’s the feeling I have and I’m very appreciative of this. I feel that level of bonding with you. And I feel that you consider me in a way that it matters to you whether or not I am making the effort to do what is right. Not just for myself but for the readers considerate enough to comment. To put it simply, I see how you care about others and show consideration to them through your actions, and I feel personally connected to you through your words, and somewhere in between, I’m inspired to follow through with how I know I should be treating others. I think you will understand what I’m saying. Thank you for this.

I feel the same way as poetry is so closely related and we have a similar usage of language. I really as crazy as it sounds get exactly what you are saying. I am concerned about your welfare, and hope you are making the best decisions for you. Thank you so much for your kind words my friend :)
