Latent Introspection

having just awoken from a truth
none dare to dream
i reveled in the feeling
of an old familiar friend
for once the house that held this heart
had found itself a home
inhabited by every hapless moment
rapt in youth
i felt a warmth so radiant
where smiles wore freedom’s linger
the foreign touch of fingers
poised to praise and not condemn
i wandered through the shifting walls
of visions so uplifting
while drifting in between
the conscious states that fate once held
a gentle hand was guiding me
through windows of perception
with eyes of every fabled tale
of caring and concern
many arms were reaching out
that left no sting of burden
and words were spoken
with a calming comfort and relief
in this fixed expression of release
like peals of fulgurance
strike every version’s revelations
voiced of your reflection
with resonance, they ring out
to floresce in all dimensions
through broken mirrors
of latent introspection

How Long Is A Mile?

a dismal gloom blares
in the distance
of concrete the corridors cry
gnashing with sinuous steel
stolen from the vacuum of midnight erosion

it is now as it was then
a tenuous terror entranced
beyond the circumstance of thought
barreling down outstretched roads of unknown ending
a home blighted nomadic with static fluoresce
abuzz with abundant abandon

each night anew
feeding silver to shiver
amid layered squalor shown blind to bright eyes
left to devices unfit for adorning
fetid filth teemed with ambiguities

but stranger things still filled my head as i stood
behind the partition of gold lamé dinge
alone like a stone world of door tethered drifters
obscured by their numbers
familiar yet foreign

rasping with roars of abrupt deconstructing
and hearts worn by prophets of apathy’s idle
but pray not awaken
the ire composed of their hijacked illusion

when truant frontiers promised fears
poised to fade
from days faster
than words would beam hope
inside daydreams of youth

disaster had fled with indignance
in woven distortions
unspooling in blood
where conifers blurred
in absurdity
dust filled my head
with a sweet symphonic suite
still assuring that we are not there yet

Poem for You

felidae entwine my spirit
framed in frozen timeworn heights
such fate falls but once and only
molecules meet tongue in haste

curse this mind of echoed refuse
not allowing facile form
feelings of effusive freedom
bear no call to fault obscured

solace finds me in our silence
lost dimensions shift in shadows
lifting upward with release
let us now slip into slumber

crucial is the word we ravish
flushed, our lips defy known rapture
press your precious pith devoutly
pallid flesh smites potent implore

oh my noble lexic seraph
so do i adore thy mooring
tears of urgent surging wells
arrive us on the tide’s reprieve

needn’t are we to besiege
each of our own affliction’s ire
for we are as we ever shall be
bonding infinite depiction

She Breathes Freedom

the faintest of whispers has beckoned
as rifts tear the moon’s lake ashore
in shifting shades of amaranthine
adrift as ambivalence alters salt of earth
she sits beside tides of diremption
surrendered to none, bride of shrewd
intrinsic to all things surrounding
what kings relinquish, wish fortuitous birth
when walls built to crumble creation
fall silt in penumbral nuance
her sendal strands flicker abeyance
portraying what laymen e’er grasping could not
and days press like parchment to florae
indelible eras bygone
in swells of a weltering fallout
dispelling adduction, such freedom knew aught

Infinity Still Residing

awaken to the void
vespertine avenues vanish
awash in bittersweet moments
memories of absconded youth
infinity still residing
on the tip of my tongue’s refrain
folding into crumbling worlds
caught between in silent hues
where your warmth imbued the stars
in dreams that beam salvation
falling over limbs of lumber
hapless, bearing fate so sweet

Obscured Sediment In Dawn’s Exile

Shrouded by luminous quilt
In stolen hour of desert gloaming
Brash and bright as life would have us
Intertwined, we courted darkness

Stark was all that ruled our world
As we rued the daylight squander
Loathsome aurous sphere that seared
A porcelain demure transfixed

Etched embrace on umber shore
Neath peering Peridot mystique
We breached the siren’s song
Through passive glances temporal

Felled, you held this coiled carapace
Quelling wrath with vitreous hand
Hapless, I would soon succumb
Shunning lucid truth in youth

All that would bear consequence
Flourished in the fiery depths
Every moment flushed with fervent
Passions, sating flesh

The corridor of riparian quenching
Drenched, adrift the wayward isle
Once flowed freely of our wefting
Now as listless as its mooring

Obscured sediment in dawn’s exile

Sowing Song Eternal

shadows may ever revolve
fixed on incandescent lure
etching vale upon this visage
mending rent flesh acumen

seasons set to solitude
may shed like threads abuzz with youth
once wont to squander
banded by kindred tune

tangibly transcending realms
filaments familially forged
harmony as resonant
as fulgurant bellow strikes anew

in those ebbing hours tumult
tones educing distant stages
tempering in tides of triumph
coalescing quests of truth

this cage of wrapped diminish
travels onward tethered still
harbored by amity’s repose
sowing song eternal

Fleeing From My Added Mouth

as stupid as i felt
when my shoe went flying
tailspin trampled
smashed bits in blinding dawn sun
of roaring wheeled metal

as dumb as when my frayed folders
ink blot scarred o-pee-chee
bled ruled paper
as i tasted knuckled grit

as foolish as the pointless plot
to crush that empty crate
jump, smash, crash gave way
to flustered face bursting blood
fleeing from my added mouth

it all looks like the work of genius
youth compiled on earthen crust
looking now from eyes that shed
shorn years lived
whence i held you

Synthetic Eyes of Ghostliness

moments pass
without discretion
woolen tangerine yet blares
framed
as though it were alone
as i
when every tear
touched paper

those rising redwoods stand
aloft
stark in contrast
bark to flesh

an old friend’s triumph
over fallen redwood
ever forefront
his eyes still speak
to me
this day

subtle dreams
were left between
to foster love
less nuanced
even i cannot recall
in light
of geometric wrest

frozen
into false creation
stories cast upon
recall
life once ventured
beyond
the vague demise
captured
by synthetic eyes
of ghostly senses

Under the Ruby Speckled Tree

under the ruby
speckled tree
hours passed
as our past
spilled out before us

random shapes
saw growth
unravel

as strange
as what we have become

soaked in sun-drawn salted dew

so few
I had come to know

softened smiles
would crumble walls
as tall as mountains

exiled
in forgotten flesh
that forged anew

toward the crimson dawn
in sacred solitude

we held forever

ever knowing
nothing more
than love’s gentle cradling

kissed by a fallen gem
now stained
the hues of human
sacrifice

every loss we suffered
shone through
this crooked canvas
as covert cries

wisdom watching
as we wept
vivid breaths
that stilled the air

in wintry wafts
of stolen strength

this lengthy load
now turns languid
