Desert Rain

clutching tightly your hand
staunching pain and sorrow
your touch granting solace
shrouded by the morrow’s fog

enchanted fluvial strands
scarlet, amber shades of comfort
following trails of silk
leading to infinity

wrapped in cloaked warmth
immersive depths afire
where mountains shelter lava
and torrents loom above

in your eyes of euxine waters
lies the mirrored truth revealed
understanding far beyond
all things to myself concealed

words gently seep downstream
breathing life from up on high
speak the very essence sealed
scars wrought of vital tears

stumbling through empty hollows
clamoring to stay aloft
countless paths of which to follow
my eyes closed, i await ensconced

plated crust lay underfoot
strife forever imminent
hovering heaps of granite
bearing relevant consequence

cracking like roars of thunder
bearing into crashing waves
besieging crumbling earth
left behind as grains of sand

once again we find these forms
drawn by forces unexplained
driven by nature, our mother
blessing us like desert rain

Petaline Presence

the toilsome tasks of this tear trodden timeline
tethered to my imminent tomb have been trivialized
the hours spent in languid lament, granted life anew

aurous beams of your radiant persona have softly seeped
into every darkened corridor of my heart and mind
where once I dreaded a moment unfettered
felled by fiery fear, fraught with forlornness

I am left hapless to ponder this prose
purloined from the Pleiades and placed within my pith
opalescent pleas impassioned

as each falling grain slips through narrowed neck
another thought of you finds its home
to tell of your story

my affinity for every facet of your precious plight had flourished
as it stood to watch its own reflection

words will never weave the wonders of the world
upon which you so warily walk

your sonorous song has shone upon these wintry woes
whispering ward amid walls of wrought ores

the tortuous descent of time’s pendulum no longer persists
replaced with your petaline presence
permeating my paltry personage

let me draw you into my steadied, unfaltering stance
to embrace you in such ways
that you may release every tension coiled

surrender to these tender lips of lingering
as they softly graze the silken allure
surrounding your center of consciousness

upon being stricken with frenzied fit of passion
pressing ardently into you
deliberately displacing your disciplined decor
having done nothing more
than to pass my lips over yours

in whispered tones of serenity
unto your bare skin of sun shunned
gently carresing the fragrant filaments
composing the hearth of your experience

I want to meld with your truth
thrashing intertwined along this bittersweet plane
every moment passed is a moment squandered
if not lost in love’s reverie

for to love, is to live

bear me witness the splendorous sublimity
of souls assimilating
so forever may remain within my heart’s refrain

your touch grants me all that I should ever care to know
of this, and endless more, I am resolved
for truly you are, one in infinity

perfidious placation perforating pallid apparition
spurned and squandered by bonds broken
cloaked impropriety as dawn stretched triumphant

impressed upon waning waters were faces
mirrored familiarity adorned with arduous artifice
attempting to allay the evident advent

in visions of avaricious availing
amid veiled acquisition inauspicious
surreptitiously sought to sate fancied fate

execrable occurrence inexorably exerted
falling on scorned ear, shorn with unsheathed rebuff
abruptly abrading the sheen of intrigue

besieged by ambivalent endeavor
untethering ethereal ties thought eternal
infernal elucidation of burgeoning adulation

expanding in nebulous bloom

wreath of sloe flowing
in slow rippled cadence
diffusely drawn out reaching all

as an echo eternalized
amid jutting earth scarred
and scattering sky of ensconcing

ethereal energies emanate
from mien marred by mask
of perpetual phantom interface

time and circumstance
holding force
on our union’s resting
turning harmony dissonant

when i listen
to the tones
of shrill cries
from passing stars

my efforts
to gain passage
are denied

left scarred
from having so misjudged
the heights
obscured by heaven
despite this heart’s bursting

still
i have felt
the shards of piercing
work their way into my song
words imbued
to shape the softened strings
that set this sallow soul
to brood

the day shall come
in the offset glow
of winter’s nuance
swept into
the undertow’s sway
where we will walk
tethered
in the hour
of silent prose

erstwhile flashes of our enduring tale

have danced across the stage in the theatre of my mind

these lavishly adorned accounts of amorous bliss

render me besotted with the beauty and boldness of your love

your words are as delicate motes of pollen

steadily born upon this weathered breast

breathing vitality anew

as familiar as tea and cake

bringing forth a fabled tapestry of time’s treasured trove

composed of our memories

transcendent twinkle entwined in euphony

the luck that looms our love’s lore lingers eternal

for once again, we have found one another

my spirit rejoices

ringing resonantly throughout the vales of the cosmos

On the Old Submissive Floor

Winter’s dawn has drawn as it must

Soon to rust the iron hinged doorway

The one that trapped the pointed finger

Where all that was for only once

 

Bits of dried and crackled color

Faintly holding lost resemblance

Passing sun storms on persistent

Blanched beyond the pallid hues

 

Now these eyes have outgrown reason

Cried as many seasons shed

In the clearing it is shown

The frame has fit the puzzled pane

 

Still my scrutinous eye searches

For an answer, glancing inward

Stunted by the icy blades

Hanging from my grim reflection

 

Rotted wood that mirrored diamond

Stood before me once before

Smashed these toes, drew crimson water

Stoic in its disregard

 

All that happened has become

The stilted visions passing through

Vanishing as though to squander

Gathered thoughts on barren sand

 

Pictures state a stranger’s case

Strangled by the deepest lines

Digging deeper towards life

To fell the death long overdue

 

Though I heard the crickets clamor

As I sunk into the board

Creaking as it knows itself to

On the old submissive floor

 

Scattering to reach remission

Exits can’t escape my eyes

As apprised of wasted matters

Tapering eternal haste
